Luxury, Romantic and Boutique Accommodation in Palm Cove

A small but stunning pocket of Tropical North Queensland where village vibes and island life meet.
Perfect beaches, luxury accommodation and relaxed vibes are all yours in Palm Cove

It may be small, but Palm Cove punches above its weight. This seaside village is home to world-class resorts, cool beach shacks, welcoming rentals and just about everything you need to make your tropical getaway complete. With lush rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef at your fingertips, you can spend your days snorkelling and swimming before jumping in a cable car and soaring over the forest canopy.

Everything in Palm Cove is within walking distance, and that’s good news for those wanting to take things easy. A top priority for most will be likely be hitting the beach and experiencing the sands Palm Cove is famous for. Giant Melaleuca trees line up like soldiers along the beach, offering a shady respite and one of the town's most recognisable photo opportunities. Take dips in the ocean, comb the waterline for washed-up pipis or clamber over the rock formation at the northern end of the beach (tip: wear shoes for this adventure as the rocks can be sharp). Those looking for an adrenalin rush while in Palm Cove could try white water rafting, bungy jumping, flying in a restored Tiger Moth or hitting the water for parasailing and scuba diving.

Move away from the coast - just temporarily, at least - to see Kuranda National Park. There are bushwalks, hikes, cycling paths and even horse-riding trails to take you through the park, plus some lookouts offer a beautiful vantage point across the region. Round out your excursion with a visit to Kuranda and if you have time, book a seat on the Kuranda Scenic Railway. This 120-year-old railway chugs through hand-carved tunnels and across the giant bridge at Stoney Creek Falls.

Return to Palm Cove just in time for sunset. Dining al fresco is a big thing in Palm Cove, and the village does it well. Think dinner surrounded by tropical gardens, seafood buffets, beachfront breakfasts or fresh fish and chips on the sand. And when you've eaten all you can manage, it is only a short stroll back to your Palm Cove accommodation. If you do make a detour for an evening walk along the beach though, nobody would blame you...
