With its Rat Pack-come-retro feels, The Pearson in Rosebud West isn’t quite like any other stay on the Mornington Peninsula. This architectural beauty
will have you feeling as though you accidentally waltzed onto the set of Mad Men. The 1960s home is tucked away on a well-established garden
block that offers peace and privacy.
The three-bedroom house has an H-shaped floorplan. Walk through the front door, turn left and you’ll discover the comfy living and dining space. There is a large TV and U-style couch, as well as parquetry floors, an original stone feature wall and vaulted ceilings. The gas log fire is perfect for chilly winter evenings. Pass by the modern dining table to enter the kitchen, which is fitted out with an old-school server, wooden cupboards and the original electric stovetop and oven. Get into the retro spirit by whipping up a '60s-inspired feast – perhaps ambrosia salad or chicken à la king?
Across the hallway you’ll find two bedrooms and the blue-tiled central bathroom. You’ll need to step outside into the internal garden and through another door to access the separate studio. This private space makes an ideal retreat for a couple or extended family. You could even set the kids up here with a movie, leaving the adults to sip cocktails in the main lounge.
