Central Springs Road is, as the moniker suggests, central. It’s just back from Vincent Street (Daylesford’s main drag), cute vintage and craft markets, and the lake’s peaceful circuit. And positioned in its midst is Sade’s – a classically elegant two-storey home, with a serene ambience you’ll love lounging around in between explorations about town.
Surrounded by lush greenery and huge shading trees, the relief of having escaped to the quiet of the countryside will settle upon you immediately. And walking up to the entrance, the sight of a sun-drenched deck complete with an eight person swim-spa will get you excited for what’s in store.
You’ll find the downstairs area perfectly set-up for indoor-outdoor living, with double doors that swing open to the al fresco entertaining to make the space stretch even further. Big picture windows draw in lots of light, so even when it’s brisk out you can still soak in the warmth indoors. Everything here is high quality and eclectically stunning. Heavy throws are slung over chairs, beautifully crafted furnishings placed with plenty of breathing space, an industrial-feel island bench centres the free-flowing kitchen, and it’s all accompanied by leafy outlooks in every direction.
The sleeping areas are similarly spacious and light-filled, with sumptuous beds and luxuriously soft linens. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, this is ideal for families and friends to get away together – there won’t be any fighting over first shower, and everyone has a luxe room to relax in.
With such a wonderful base it will be tempting to spend all of your time here, but if you do feel like a bit of activity it’s nice to know you have the option. It’s just a short walk to the main street, so you can collect your morning latte to enjoy back on the deck. Lake Daylesford is a breezy kilometre away, where you can wander alongside the ducks, picnic on the banks, or go all out for a lavish meal at the Lakehouse. Track down some deli bits to nosh on over lazy afternoons, casually browse the boutiques, and when you’ve stretched the legs enough, return to relax in your gorgeous home away.
