In a world where few things are unique, The Springs On Swan Lake shines. Picture a lakeside setting, circa 1950s. Dotted around a village green are six gorgeous cottages in a rainbow of gelato hues.
Step inside each of the cottages and discover the most immaculate, heartfelt recreation of bygone bliss. From retro furnishings to genuine curios, crockery and art, the conjuring of the 1950s era of optimism and happiness is a sight to behold.
The owners discovered this once much-loved lakeside holiday village in a state of disrepair. Anyone else would have cast aside this gem for something new. Instead, Annette Pike gathered up her considerable imagination (and the boundless patience of her husband Alan) and brought The Springs On Swan Lake back to life.
Five of the cottages have a kitchenette and access to their own private bathroom in a beautifully-appointed central facility. One has its own bathroom and kitchen. All have a bedroom dressed in gorgeous linens and at every turn the detail of the interiors is admirable.
The other surprise is a beautiful mud-brick home a few steps over a creek, with its lounge with a magnificent cathedral-ceiling, a bold red kitchen and two dreamy bedrooms.
