We’ve Discovered the Most Romantic Rooms for Your Next Couples’ Weekend Away
Posted by Megan Osborne on Wednesday, December 13, 2017
While most might assume the most romantic room in any accommodation is the boudoir, we’ve discovered a plethora of destinations that are perfect for sparking that ol’ romantic flame.
We’ve scanned our collection from head to toe—and may we say, we liked what we saw—to share with you the rooms that will bring on those loving feelings. Whether it’s a cosy window seat with a spectacular view, a steamy spa bath surrounded by lush rainforest, or even an intimate fireplace rug—hey, we never said we were above a cliché—we’ve found the perfect romantic weekend away (or longer) for you and your significant other to enjoy.
When you're looking for wider romantic getaway inspiration, don't forget to check out our collection that focuses on all things amour. Find it here.
Indigo Couples Retreat, South Coast, New South Wales
While most would fall in love with the pool at the beautiful Indigo Couples Retreat in the South Coast NSW, the aim is to fall in love with each other—not the amenities! Therefore we recommend luxuriating together in the peaceful bathtub located on the balcony at this modern masterpiece.
Rocky Hills Retreat, East Coast, Tasmania
We can’t decide where the most romantic spot in the secluded Avalon Rocky Hills Retreat is, but we reckon it’s a close tie between a perch on the sun-drenched couch with a view over the wild Tasmanian landscape, or at the sleek dining table, enjoying a candlelit dinner for two. Perhaps you can use the opportunity to re-enact the Lady and the Tramp spaghetti meatball scene, along with a backing track of That’s Amore?
Jackalope, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria
There’s a lot to love about modernist boutique hotel; Jackalope. Located down the Mornington Peninsula, it’s an ideal destination for a romantic getaway; with all rooms having a max capacity of two. The deep soak Japanese bathtubs are gloriously spacious enough for a romantic bathe, and you can set the mood with fragrant pinot noir infused bath salts; the grapes are harvested from the vineyard right outside your window.
Stonewell Cottages and Vineyards, Barossa Valley, South Australia
The most loved-up aspect of this romantic weekend getaway is not inside the accommodation, but rather situated in a row-boat on the surrounding lake. Stonewell Cottages and Vineyards located in the heart of the Barossa Valley make for an exceptional escape filled with wining, dining and of course; wooing.
Hart’s Farm, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria
A romantic getaway to Shoreham will be complete with a stay at Hart’s Farm; an accommodation after your own h(e)arts. The most dreamy location in this property has got to be the veggie patch. Why on earth would that be? Because you can get in some good bonding time harvesting veggies for your scrumptious and intimate dinner; and enjoy the process of gardening and cooking together. Who knows, you may harvest an artichoke heart or two.
Saffire Freycinet, East Coast, Tasmania
What could possibly be more romantic than all inclusive luxury in the breathtaking Tasmanian wilderness? Kick your feet up at Saffire Freycinet on Tasmania’s East Coast; indulging in fine dining, private plunge pools and stocking up on oyster aphrodisiacs from one of the local bay tours. Without sounding too cliché, we recommend that the most spectacular romantic feature of this destination is its location. Explore as far and wide as you can, and come home to ultimate pampering.
Bremer Island Banubanu Beach Retreat, Northern Territory
What’s more romantic than glamping? Glamping on a remote island! While the tent itself at Bremer Island Banubanu Beach Retreat is really only one room, we classify the sandy shores one step away to be the most memorable feature of this Northern Territory getaway. Sink your toes into island life with your one and only.
Coral Street Cottage and Silver Street Studio, South Fremantle, Western Australia
Cuddle up in the cosy candlelit Coral Street Cottage with its richly furnished décor and warming fireplace. Sit together on the window seat in the Silver Street converted artist’s studio and get creative; maybe you could draw each other a la Titanic?
Longhouse, Byron Bay, New South Wales
Your next Byron Bay romantic weekend away is waiting, and where better to spend it than by the beachside at Longhouse? This A-frame house with stained glass windows will surely be having you whispering your own vows to each other; especially in the tall cathedral ceilings of the master boudoir.
Spicers Tamarind Retreat, Sunshine Coast, Queensland
Infinity pools we can get behind, but we’ve never seen an infinity spa before! Spicers Tamarind Retreat in the Sunshine Coast, Queensland is the ultimate hinterland destination for you and your partner. Seek relaxation, rejuvenation and romance at this luxury escape, in particular; this stunning spa with a vista—but you’ll be too busy looking into each other’s eyes for that, right?
