A stay at Mornington Wilderness Camp opens a window to the extraordinary work of the Australian Wildlife Conservancy, an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to conserving
Australia's threatened wildlife and ecosystems. Mornington is just one of 14 sanctuaries that AWC operates, each focused on saving Australia's endangered species (one of Mornington's stars is the beautiful Gouldian Finch).
Guests stay in spacious safari-style luxury tents with ensuites and fresh linen. Daily tours take you to the heart of Mornington: the Dimond and Sir John gorges. With an expert scientific staff to provide you with the ultimate wildlife insights, these trips are fascinating and marvellous fun. Beyond the stylish tents, the restaurant serves great food and wine or picnic hampers to fuel a day of discovery.
Mornington is unique in that AWC focuses on conservation work, with a visitor facility to educate and inspire guests. It has the only genetics lab in the Kimberley, making it a place of innovative research. What starts as a holiday could well become your passion as your contributions help save wildlife at risk.
