Magnolia Country Retreat is idyllically located amid two acres of established gardens in the picturesque town of Warburton in the Upper Yarra Valley. Hosts Jenny and Ian Godson have transformed this elegant 1908 home (complete with shady verandah) into a romantic retreat for couples that perfectly blends the best of old-world charm with luxurious comfort.
A warm, understated ambience greets you at Magnolia from the moment you arrive. You are welcomed with afternoon tea or pre-dinner drinks and cheese (depending on your arrival time) then shown to your room – each is loaded with character thanks to the antique beds, swish linen and period furnishings. Choose between the Blue Room looking onto the front verandah, the intimate Garden Room with its private balcony (both have spa ensuites) and the colourful Poppy Room.
Breakfast is a special event served on the verandah or in the formal dining room if the weather is cool. There is a cosy lounge, a reading room and nearby wineries to explore, all contributing to a wonderful, yet private (hosts Jenny and Ian have separate living quarters) B&B experience.
