Storm-ridden seafarers used to find shelter from the fury of the Southern Ocean in this sandstone-flanked cove, but Port Campbell is more notable as a haven of hospitality from the Great Ocean Road's tide of tourists and holidaymakers. And just around the corner from the beach, Waves sets the standard here as a designer-chic cafe/restaurant with a nautical look. It faces the main street and has a separate block of spacious suites behind, where guests may stay in pampered comfort.
The spacious upstairs and downstairs open-plan suites are fitted out like superior hotel rooms; all have private balconies or open on to a garden terrace.
