This gorgeous and grandiose 1876 building was once a bank and then a convent. But under the careful ministrations of Heidi and Jim it has been transformed into luxurious five-star accommodation right in the heart of historic Beechworth. For those who love the trappings of Victorian splendour – including the ornate staircase, high ceilings, intricate heritage colours and gilt-framed mirrors – this is a marvellous find. And it boasts real antiques including antique linen and crockery.
More than just history, Freeman on Ford is about service and position, being opposite Beechworth's historic precinct and near Von Mueller Gardens. As you'd expect from a top rated B&B, breakfast is a highlight with the selection of five different cooked breakfasts – a great start to the day.
