Since we last visited Dreamers, Wendy and Mal Lee have added two apartments which with their rammed-earth walls and low CO2 emission design, complement perfectly the existing chalets. All are set around a trout-filled lagoon in five acres of river front with mountain views (snow-capped in winter) and the bonus of incredible colours in autumn – and all quite close to the centre of Mount Beauty.
As the name suggests, the idea behind Dreamers is meditative tranquillity – probably a good thing after a day in the mountains. The new two-storey apartments are unreservedly spacious, with three bedrooms, a full kitchen, a lovely living area and access to the pool. It's all just perfect for groups or families.
The four chalets have distinctively curved roofs, blue walls and romantic four poster
beds and spas, making them ideally suited to couples with romance on their minds. An extra bedroom means that friends and small families can also enjoy the views and everything else that Dreamers offers. Location: 345km or four hours northeast of Melbourne. Melway 922 G9. HEMA RA 49 E10.
