Come as a couple or come as a group, either way you'll be refreshed by the crisp country air between the mountains and the sea in the hinterland of Gippsland's lakes district. Sitting prettily on an estate featuring a water wheel and Dutch windmill, Tamberrah's four cottages have been built for comfort, with elegant contemporary furnishings, large bathrooms and private decks.
Your friendly hosts will greet you with a basket of breakfast goodies, sparkling wine and chocolates; you can order a pizza at the inhouse pizza cafe; or if you fancy yourself as an angler, you're welcome to try and catch a brown or rainbow trout, bass or perch in the lake and then cook it on the barbie. If you prefer to dine out, it's just 19km to Bairnsdale.
This is a good base for excursions to the Gippsland Lakes (take a cruise from Lakes Entrance or Metung) or the mountains to the north.
