In fact, it's much the same as being in your own home: that is, if your home is a lovingly restored Federation cottage in the bayside suburb of Elwood, about a 15-minute tram ride from the centre of Melbourne.
Kerferd is a beguiling mix of early 20th century features and the latest in modern contemporary living. Think charming red brick exterior walls and timber fretwork offset by bright and breezily modern interiors. We particularly love the kitchen with its stainless steel appliances and the casual indoor/outdoor living area. When you consider there's also a more formal lounge room and two seductively comfortable bedrooms, it's obvious Kerferd offers room to move for four guests (or just one lucky couple).
 Elwood is one of Melbourne's favourite suburbs, to live and to visit on weekends – it's right next door to the cafes, restaurants and shops of trendy St Kilda, a short walk from the beach and imbued with its own atmosphere of residential chic.
