The Coachman's Quarters is one of our beautiful new finds for this edition. Just minutes from the heart of Melbourne, this 1870 heritage protected coach house has been stunningly transformed into a French-accented pied-à-terre. With its sympathetic restoration, you can almost hear the gentle clip-clop of hooves on the cobblestones outside your private escape for two.
Owner Wendy Neaves is known for her exceptional decorating skills and The Coachman's Quarters showcases her impeccable taste. Every piece of the French Provincial style furniture is an antique, with some lovely 19th century pieces. Inside, the former coach area is now a superb salon complete with large shuttered windows looking onto the courtyard. Other exquisite touches include a claw-foot bath and antique linen.
 The building retains many original features, with exposed bluestone foundations, wooden entry doors and a Baltic and cedar staircase leading to a romantic mezzanine bedroom in what was the hay loft. We think this is a real needle in a haystack find – history, elegance and style in one gorgeous package.
