This gracious 1892 homestead is one of our favourite new traditionally hosted B&B experiences for this edition. Kaye and Chris Greene have created a tranquil oasis out of Springbank's country setting: with 20 acres of farmland, gorgeous gardens, two beautifully decorated guest bedrooms, and the old creamery now a private cottage, this is a bucolic haven of the highest order.
Country hospitality is laid on with gusto, whether it be in the form of a delicious cheese platter, dinner in front of the timber-lined dining room's open fire, or advice on what to do in a region teeming with wineries and sights. There's lots of space and outdoor decks for relaxation and taking in the lovely views.
Choosing between the two guest rooms is not easy. The Batema suite has a private l ounge; the Evison its own courtyard and a lovely claw-foot bath. The cottage has a shady verandah, outdoor areas and divine country-style interior fittings. Whichever you choose, you'll love Springbank.
