Gipsy Point Lodge overlooks the confluence of the Genoa and Wallagaraugh rivers at the head of Mallacoota Inlet, which is surrounded by the natural wonders and wildlife of the Croajingolong National Park. Here you have the feeling of being enclosed by a remote wilderness of native bushland and extensive waterways, and yet ensconced in an easily accessible oasis of civilised comfort.
Dinner and full breakfast are included in the tariff for in-house guests, hamper lunches are provided for those who stay on and local fresh seafood is a specialty. The lounge, sun-deck, garden and tennis court afford an opportunity to meet other Australian and international travellers and make new friends. For those who prefer more privacy and to cater for themselves, there are three well-equipped, self-contained cottages.
This is a good place to bring your boat; the lodge has its own jetties and launching ramp. Canoes, kayaks and rowboats are available without charge, or you may hire a motor launch to go fishing or cruising. Location: 500km or six hours east of Melbourne; seven hours south of Sydney.
