If F. Scott Fitzgerald had ever made it to Hepburn Springs, the author would have felt right at home under the soaring Art Deco arches of Peppers Springs Retreat – perhaps imagining his creation Jay Gatsby joining Daisy for a martini at the bar. It's that kind of place: pre-war glitz and glamour sensitively integrated with a confident 21st century design.
Guests can choose from the delightfully comfortable, Art Deco-accented standard rooms through to the frankly opulent Terrace Suite with a spa overlooking its own terrace. The Gatsby Room is a stunner: an extraordinary synthesis of modern comfort and 1930s style, with its brass claw-foot bath, marble tiling and a big LCD TV. Then there are the warehouse-style Spa Villas, with room for four, in the property's grounds.
The Retreat is in the centre of town and combines its spacious rooms with the acclaimed  DECO restaurant (recommended by The Age Good Food Guide).
