The 1890s villa, all pretty in aqua–blue weatherboard, red corrugated iron roof, and surrounded by a white iron-lace trimmed verandah and cottage garden, is a haven of country style.
For complete seclusion and luxury, the airconditioned Spa Suite opens to a private courtyard and encompasses its own sitting room, kitchenette and double corner spa-bath. The three ensuite rooms are lined with Baltic pine panelling and furnished in comfortable period style, and share two guest lounges – where an open fire and a book or drink beckon. Host Renée Ludekens draws on her international travels and culinary creativity to whip up memorable four-course breakfasts.
 Pendower House is in the heart of Daylesford and makes the perfect base to explore the area. In fact, Renée has a great knowledge of the area and will happily organise restaurant bookings, in-house massages and other goodies including tarot readings and massage and spa packages.
