The name Woorilla could hardly be more apt, meaning ‘place of peace'. Tranquil Ferny Creek is high in the Dandenongs, not far from Melbourne and yet a world away with its tall timbers, leafy gullies and flocks of rosellas. There you will find these three private and luxurious cottages, purpose-built to give couples an opportunity to enjoy the peace of a real bushland retreat.
Woorilla has two acres of gardens and forest, and it all seems close enough to touch from any of the cottages' wide verandahs, or through the wide expanses of glass that peak under the cathedral ceilings. Even the inviting four-poster beds have an outdoor view, so even if you're not quite ready to dig into the hearty breakfast provisions, chances are there'll be a kookaburra or parrot on the railing outside eager to start the day.
 The cottages have a natural visual warmth from their timber interiors, or you can spend the evening in front of the wood fire, maybe after a soak in the spa. The restaurants of Sassafras and Olinda are nearby, or you're welcome to prepare a grand meal in your cottage's well equipped kitchen. Very relaxing.
