Observatory has four lovely cottages to choose from. All are lovingly appointed with four-poster beds, log fires, double spas, a voluminous chesterfield lounge and modern amenities such as air-conditioning, CD player and DVD. Yet each has its own character: Candlewick Cottage has a provincial farmhouse feel and second-storey loft bedroom; Ironbark has wonderful views and a lovely antique bed; Owl's Croft has polished timber floors and wood panelling; and Windsong has marvellous views from the spa.
 Located high up on Mount Dandenong summit, these cottages are surrounded by bushland, so you can be sure that kookaburras will visit. Each cottage has a kitchen and a barbecue, or local restaurants can deliver. Inhouse massage is also available.
