Guests are rarely tempted to leave their rooms at Merrow Cottages. It is not because they are scared of meeting wildlife on this magnificent eight-acre forest block but because Merrow's fabulous cottages invite you to just snuggle in and relax.
The cottages are perfectly juxtaposed with their relatively untamed surroundings. The two dove-grey weatherboard cottages have sumptuous interiors, antique furniture, spas big enough to launch the Titanic in, full electronic entertainment facilities and lots of extras such as fluffy bathrobes, chocolates and port. The Gatehouse cottage has an irresistible four-poster king-size bed (think Henry VIII), full-size kitchen and a lovely deck under the trees.
The Little Cottage is more cosily intimate, with a queen-size four-poster and an open fireplace that you can see from the spa. Leave your socks off and the glowing orange coals will toast your toes and warm your bones before bed. Just minutes from galleries, craft shops and cafes, these cottages are utterly delightful.
