Built in 1858 next to the first permanent Goldfields church, The Parsonage was also home to 1930s Australian cricket captain William Maldon ‘Bill' Woodfull. Now it is a lovingly restored and luxurious self-contained villa giving couples or groups of up to eight a wonderful chance to experience historic Maldon in the most original way possible.
Owner Rita Bosaid also runs a business creating hand-finished collectable furniture and The Parsonage is testament to her passion with its extravagant use of painted surfaces, French provincial furniture and carefully integrated soft furnishings. In fact, it is perfect for craft groups looking for a retreat venue.
The four bedrooms offer a variety of sleeping arrangements in absolute comfort, with details such as Egyptian cotton bed linen and goose-down quilts. A rose-filled garden with Tuscan-styled furniture, a sun-drenched conservatory and a huge gourmet kitchen are other highlights in this utterly gorgeous part of Maldon's living heritage. Location: 135km or 1.5 hours north of Melbourne. Melway 609 C5. HEMA RA 45 C11.
Facilities: One house with four bedrooms (one king plus single, one queen, one queen plus single, one with three singles), two bathrooms (one with claw-foot bath), kitchen, lounge (wood fire, TV, DVD), dining room (eight seater table), conservatory, hydronic heating, laundry facilities. ADSL broadband. BBQ. Full breakfast provisions provided.
