Imagine having your own five-bedroom, 19th century homestead hidden in 1000 acres of rich farmland. Of course, it has a huge country kitchen, a formal dining room with wood heater and even a piano in the lounge room. It sounds like the perfect place to invite a group of friends up for a country weekend and dinner, doesn't it' Fortunately, you can turn that enticing fantasy into reality at Lochinver Farm.
The 1860s homestead is available to guests as a self-contained getaway, but it is just part of the Lochinver experience. There are also the Blue Wren and Creek cottages: the former is a three bedroom, self-contained, one-time miner's house that is perfect for families or groups; the latter is a cosy hideaway for one or two people in the homestead gardens.
 We were blown away by the beauty of the farm (the yellow canola fields are incredible) and hosts Alison and John say that most people's reaction on arriving is simply “Wow!” Whether you are looking for a large group venue or a cosy cottage getaway, Lochinver's magnificent setting in the heart of the Goldfields is perfect.
