Originally one of Bendigo's finest private residences, this stately Italianate mansion was built in 1882 and extended in 1893 for the growing family of William Hunter, who made his fortune on the gold diggings. Today, the heritage sensitive restoration has transformed it into one of the Goldfields' most luxurious all-round food and accommodation experiences.
The house is set in a century-old garden, behind a canopy of copper beeches. Step inside and discover gracious public spaces for hosting weddings, receptions and conferences. The Cellar restaurant is open to the public and guests have access to a private lounge and breakfast room. Each of the six upstairs suites features a heritage feel with plush furnishings, 14-foot ceilings and garden views. The larger deluxe rooms have their own gas log fires.
 Hunter House is also perfectly positioned for a Bendigo stay – it is just a short stroll to the city centre, with its historic buildings and gardens, vintage trams, art gallery, Golden Dragon museum and many cafes and restaurants.
