Cathedral Heights is very well named. This is Bendigo as you've never seen before: from the upper balcony of one of these stylish, inner-city apartments you are high on a hill in the goldrush city's most elegant residential area. Virtually opposite is the soaring Sacred Heart Cathedral, and spread out below is the town itself.
The building dates back to the 1930s and while its proportions and Art Deco design hint at rich living from the past, this was in fact once a boarding school. After a two-year renovation, Cathedral Heights now has two lavishly designed and equipped self-contained apartments, which are perfect for overnight or longer stays.
Original features such as mantelpieces and intricate glazing have been retained, and are in perfect harmony with the cool  elegance of the polished timber floors, chocolate furniture and deep rugs. Although Bendigo's restaurants and cafes are nearby there's a kitchen to prepare the continental breakfast provided (or something more substantial), while the spa-equipped ensuites, spacious lounge and modernist touches add to a fabulous Bendigo experience.
