We love Ocean Grove – it's an unspoilt seaside town and very laid back. And a seaside holiday doesn't get much better than a cosy log cottage in this family-owned village just a short walk to the Ocean Grove beach.
Ti-Tree Village is the pride of hosts and sisters Jodie and Tiffany. Their family created the village as a series of log cottages connected by paths that wind through beautifully tended gardens. With four styles of cottages from which to choose, there is something for couples, families and groups. Each cottage has a lounge with open fire and full kitchen. The most luxurious are the three Luxury Loft Spa Cottages – and with a 37-inch LCD TV, spa bath and an automatic Krups espresso machine there is no need to leave.
But we do recommend discovering the Village's new restaurant, the Bark Hut. This
unique restaurant resembles a Snowy Mountains' hut with its rusty iron roof, timber slab walls and large open fire. The menu specialises in Australian comfort and grill meals, enhanced with native Australian flavours and produce. Location: 100km or 1¼ hours southwest of Melbourne. Melway 497 H1. HEMA RA 42 H4.
Facilities: 22 one-bedroom and two-bedroom cottages (queen, double and single beds; seven are two-storey with loft bedroom). Each with lounge (open fire, TV, VCR, CD), bathroom (some with spa), kitchen. Restaurant open for dinner (days vary seasonally; private functions available).
