The view across the treetops from one of Yarrowee Cottages' attic bedrooms puts you far away from civilisation. Yet these brilliantly designed, polished cottages are a pleasant three kilometre stroll from the centre of Ballarat via a sylvan path beside the Yarrowee River. You can follow the path right from Yarrowee's boundary all the way out to Buninyong, which makes for a fun, nature-filled trekking adventure.
You have three gorgeous cottages to choose from: the three-bedroom Bilrene with its amorous four-poster bed, DVD library and outdoor barbecue area; the nautically themed Admirals with its river views from the deck and brassy bed for two; or the cosily comforting Yarrowee cottage, which can sleep two or four under its intricately raftered roof. Each cottage is air-conditioned and equipped with all the holiday luxuries: double spas, full audio-visual gear, kitchenettes for country cooking and much more.
The grounds are impeccable and have been artfully designed with gazebos for afternoon tea in the garden or a quiet read. Yarrowee Cottages are a wonderful discovery.
