There's a great feeling of peace about Wintarni, which is set in a 100-tree olive grove at the foothills of the Great Dividing Range. The self-contained cottage is sheltered by native vegetation, which flutters with red and yellow breasted robins and wattle birds. Yet Ballarat, Daylesford and the wineries of the Pyrenees are only 30 minutes away (hosts Barbie or Rob Glass will arrange an exclusive tour if you don't want to taste and drive). And Melbourne is just over an hour away, making Wintarni an easy trip.
Wintarni's spacious cottage is richly embellished with red gum panelling and furniture. There are books to dip into in front of the log fire, a full kitchen, outdoor barbecue, large bathroom and everything a couple, family or group of friends need for a relaxing stay.
 The pampering starts with a waiting bottle of chilled bubbly and continues on to breakfast, with fresh provisions laid on every morning. During the day, you can wander the groves of the five-acre farm or get out and see historic Goldfields sites in the district. But we just love to bask in the sublime tranquillity of Wintarni.
