The name Paradise was actually used to describe this part of the Barham River valley well before these cottages were built, but it is fair to say they definitely fit the picture. Perched beside a tranquil lake dotted with willows, above the river and the enchanting road that brings you from Apollo Bay, this is a rural and rainforest setting that is indeed heavenly in aspect.
The two self-contained cottages are dreamy confections of gables, dormer windows and balconies on which guests can sit above the water with a cuppa as the rosellas fly in for the afternoon. Inside, it's a pleasing mix of country and modern, especially in front of the wood fire, soaking in the double spa or tucked up in one of the under-roof bedrooms.
 Guests might be quite happy to sit around and enjoy the romance and the peace (although an increasing number also arrange weddings on the property and photography on the scenic bridge). But with a local market, rainforest walks, cycling and coastal tours on offer, you can be as active or indolent as you feel.
