The deep blue, wave-like roofline and sandy-coloured walls of Chocolate Gannets perfectly mimic the shape of waves breaking onto the beach just across the road from these luxurious and warmly inviting villas, just a frisbee fling from Apollo Bay. With floor-to-ceiling glass in each villa, the views are gloriously refreshing, and the combination of cutting-edge architecture and unstinting provision of comfort makes for a fabulous base to explore the Great Ocean Road.
The two-bedroom villas are spacious, so couples can stretch out, and small families or friends have room to move. Colourful interiors are pleasingly matched with timber, stainless steel in the fully equipped kitchen, and profoundly relaxing hues in the bedrooms. As well as swimming in the ocean, you can look at it while soaking in a deep spa that has room for two.
 There's a barbecue on the deck – and, that's right, it also has a great view – and absolutely scrumptious welcome hampers are provided. The area has many dining options – the Great Ocean Road leads to Lorne in one direction and the Twelve Apostles in the other. All you have to do is decide where to go, or do nothing at all.
