Risby Cove offers Strahan's only absolute waterfront accommodation, and what a tranquil location it is. Right on the shores of a peaceful cove with views of the adjacent township and bushland behind, it is ideal for enjoying a wilderness getaway without sacrificing creature comforts.
The eight spacious suites (one or two bedroom, the latter sleeping up to four) feature blackwood furnishings, and each has a balcony, kitchenette and dining area so they are perfect for longer stays and DIY cooking. Alternatively, at Risby Cove's own restaurant, you can dine on fine food (featuring local produce) and bask contentedly in the beautiful harbour views.
There is plenty to do here. After exploring Strahan and the Macquarie Harbour area,  you can do the awe-inspiring Gordon River cruise or take a wild jet boat ride on the King River. Check out the foreshore from land or sea on a replica pining punt or bike. A gallery has been created out of the 100-year-old Steamship Company Workshops and exhibits work by local artists. Risby Cove even has its own theatrette with nightly movies. Or, you could just sit back, relax and absorb the calming pace of west-coast life.
