As if being located right in the heart of historic Richmond is not attractive enough, the added bonus of staying at Mulberry Cottage B&B is that owner Miriam Cooper welcomes guests to come and see her one-woman show ‘Turn the key of time' playing on-site most days. This award-winning performance has Miriam playing Grannie Rhodes, a 19th century Richmond identity, in a convict mystery play that gives a unique insight into colonial times.
While the performance is in the museum-like Grannie Rhodes' cottage, guests are welcomed to the much newer (but remarkably sympathetic) Mulberry Cottage B&B built partly out of reclaimed materials. Here, guests have the choice of two themed rooms downstairs (including our favourite, the slightly saucy French Boudoir) which have their own separate entrance. Upstairs are two cosy attic rooms, which also have a shared lounge room, and are perfect for friends travelling together.
Miriam won Tasmania's 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year award for Mulberry Cottage and Grannie Rhodes', and it's no wonder when a piece of Richmond's history has been brought back to life in such a vibrant fashion.

Facilities: Two themed ensuite rooms; two attic rooms share one bathroom; two guest lounges. Continental breakfast served in the dining room. Performances daily except Tuesday (check website for times).
