Privacy, luxury and stunning views from its eyrie atop a green Tasmanian hill make Eagles Nest enticingly different. Owners Des and Dianne Brown have gone to extraordinary lengths to make guests feel totally welcome and relaxed in this towering, glass-fronted chalet. It is an absolutely irresistible experience.
We love the outdoors here as much as the interior comforts. The chalet surrounds are flagged in bluestone and dotted with quirky country sculptures. Numerous nooks, including an outdoor bath, allow you to take in the stunning view across the valley to Mount Roland. Inside, there is space – and plenty of it. The couch in the downstairs living room actually swivels to capture the best view depending on the time of day, the spa pool is massive, and the beds are deep and warm.
It's the little extras that really set Eagles Nest apart, such as the availability of a masseur to pummel away life's troubles, or a ‘Dream Chef' to take over kitchen duties and deliver a superb in-house dinner. Des and Dianne are working on another four-bedroom villa and a comprehensive wellness centre offering massage, Rasul steam mud bath and more.
