Northwest Tasmania
Tasmania manages to compress an amazing amount of scenery into a relatively small space. There is no better way to sample its diversity than a trip around the state's northwest region. This is an area that manages to put on display everything from the bucolic pleasures of peaceful countryside (make sure you mark Sheffield on your map in particular for its famous murals and gorgeous countryside) and sheltered beaches by the coast (check out the northwest coast towns of Port Sorell, Boat Harbour Beach and Penguin) . Then there are some very famous rock formations to check out as well - the very famous Nut at Stanley, the monumentally-named Walls of Jerusalem National Park and the world heritage-listed Cradle Mountain area.
