Connoisseurs of chic design and craftsmanship, and lovers of fine wine and good food, will feel very at home at TWOFOURTWO. Alan Livermore, the award-winning maker of superb Tasmanian timber furniture, designed the stylish interior of this historic building – including a spectacular timber and stainless steel staircase – on Launceston's cosmopolitan Charles Street. Katie Livermore can take credit for much of its elegant, mostly locally sourced furnishings and the tasteful selection of artwork.
The house has three luxurious guest apartment suites fitted in Tasmanian blackwood, oak or myrtle. We love the Gaggia espresso machines, iPods complete with playlists, and the pillow menu. And there's a gallery of fine timber furniture, Tasmanian prints and photographs, ceramics, glassware and textiles. You can indulge in tastings from a display of wines produced by Tasmania's best boutique vineyards, and all of them are available for purchase.
 Nearby are some great gastronomic options, with Launceston's best restaurants, cafes and specialty food shops only a short stroll away. Check the menus in your room, or stock up for a barbecue in your private courtyard.
