The instant you walk into Tam O'Shanter Views' beautifully appointed main lounge room there's a ‘wow' factor that has jaws dropping in awe. Beneath the wave-shaped roof of this four-bedroom beach house the polished timber flooring stretches out to picture windows with an unhindered view of Bass Strait from this peaceful spot on Tasmania's northern coastline.
Tam O'Shanter Views, an awards finalist, was designed to provide up to four couples with a taste of convivial relaxation only metres from the beach. Bring your own food and wine (or stock up from the many local provedores), choose between the spa-equipped master bedroom and three other queen-size bedrooms, then decide how best to spend the afternoon.
 Soaking up the sun on the deck is a great temptation and the views across sparkling seas to Ninth Island are sensational. The beach offers good walking, fishing and rock-pool fossicking or you can follow the Tamar wine route, check out local golf clubs or just browse the book, CD and DVD libraries in the house. Finish with a barbecue dinner on the deck, and relish a repeat performance in the coming days.
