Zero Davey has carved out a niche as Hobart's hippest boutique apartment spot, and it's easy to see why. Superb contemporary design, coolly modern rooms and impeccable service are highlights. But then the location is even more extraordinary. Perched on the edge of Constitution Dock – a stone's throw from waterside restaurants – it just couldn't be closer to downtown Hobart.
The Penthouse is a stunner with its sweeping harbour views, colourful finishes, luscious bedding and even a baby grand piano. It brings a whiff of Monaco to Tassie, and more than a few yachties berth nearby to plant their feet here on dry land. Zero Davey also has more affordable options. The deluxe apartments and studios adopt the same cool style in smaller packages, forming a unique counterpoint to heritage-soaked Hobart.
 As befitting the theme, there's a multitude of techoid extras such as a mini-gym, the occasional illuminated wall, wireless or cable internet and a sauna. And if for some reason your room doesn't have harbour views, the plasma screen TV can be tuned to a very passable facsimile. Devilishly clever.
