Bordering coastal bushland with absolute water frontage, this is a hideaway where the only neighbours to be seen might be a frolicking dolphin or a passing whale, and the stillness is broken only by the sounds of varied bird life. The location could not be more idyllic – on the famed Freycinet Peninsula overlooking the sheltered Great Oyster Bay on one side and the Hazards mountain range on the other.
Twin beach houses are joined by timber decking but the smaller Boat House is let only to a second couple or family members travelling with the occupants of Waterfront House – no one ever has to share this very private property with strangers. The angled floor-to-ceiling windows offer magnificent water views, supplementing all the comforts of a well-equipped home.
The pristine beach, perfect for snorkelling, is at your doorstep and the Freycinet National Park, with its variety of bushland, clifftop walking tracks and stunning ocean vistas, is only eight kilometres away – a scenic cruise, fishing trip or diving adventure can easily be arranged. Location: 195km or 2.5 hours northeast of Hobart; 173km or 2.5 hours southeast of Launceston. HEMA RA 59 C14.
Facilities: Two separate sleeping houses (let out to one group at a time). One with king or twin beds; one with queen (each with a bathroom). Full kitchen/dining/living (TV, DVD, wood fire), heating, large deck (BBQ). Self-catering. Visit this property's website
