Tasmania
Australia's island state is incredibly diverse and offers so much to do and see in such a compact and easy to navigate area. First port of call for most visitors to Tasmania will be either Launceston in the north or Hobart in the south. They are both very picturesque cities, sophisticated with a fabulous array of great restaurants but quiet enough to be incredibly welcoming. Southern Tasmania is ripe with historic towns, while the East Coast has fabulous beaches and more sunshine than northern mainland states. The northwest is a gateway to Tasmania's stunning mountainous regions, while the wild west coast town of Strahan is the gateway to the surrounding World Heritage listed wilderness area. And don't forget Flinders Island - this small island can be discovered after an easy flight from either Melbourne or Launceston.
Remember, we have personally visited each and every property we recommend, so our reviews are an accurate account of the experience you can expect. And the photographs are all recent, so there should be no disappointments when you arrive.
