Hosts Hans and Ulrike Zimmermann came from Germany some 20 years ago and fell in love with the Fleurieu Peninsula. And when you blend an architect with an artist, add some premium shiraz and a gorgeous private vineyard valley, the result is dazzling.
What began as a studio for Ulrike's beautiful handmade tiles has evolved into a cellar door and boutique accommodation, designed and handcrafted by the hosts. It is sublime: the fresh bright interiors feature art by Ulrike and other local artists. Hand-laid parquetry floors, a unique wood fire designed by Hans and dreamy bed canopies all showcase this couple's creative energies.
Each room has a private balcony with vineyard views. The hosts live across the way, so the B&B is totally for guests to enjoy. Sit, relax and contemplate in the guest lounge, which has inspiring views over the valley to the ocean.
Guests enjoy wine tastings and gourmet breakfasts as well as hilltop picnics while watching the sun set over the vineyard. And for a special experience, indulge in a three-course dinner matched with Zimmermann's wines. An exquisite McLaren Vale treat.
