Sensational surprises can come in boutique packages and Yoredale Cottage is definitely one of life's great finds. Right in the heart of historic Port Elliot, this charming cottage encapsulates pure perfection in interior style.
Yoredale was born of host Helen Thompson's childhood holidays in Port Elliot – carefree days when milk was delivered by horse and cart, and the bakery (still the same today) proffered warm, high-top bread to eager youngsters. Yoredale Cottage captures this essence but with a sense of style that the milkman could never have imagined all those years ago. The two guest bedrooms are accented in bold, warm colours including rich blue, silver and crisp white for the master bedroom and luscious red and gingham for the twin second bedroom.
The real surprise comes in the stunning open-plan lounge, dining area and gourmet kitchen. The use of space is magnificent and every little desire has been anticipated. French doors lead to two courtyard entertaining areas, where many relaxing hours will be spent. There is a little bit of Noosa and not a hint of maritime tack – just a tasteful blend to ensure a stylish stay. We love it.
