Atop one of Clare's rolling hills sits a retreat that offers a delicious and intriguing insight into the passion, challenges and romance of farming life. Here, amid 15 acres of olive groves, gardens and rows of gossamer vines, an air of abundance prevails.
Hosts Stephen and Caroline Gill offer guests a chance to immerse themselves in the charm of country life and for a brief moment to experience the delights of the changing seasons. The accommodation has an Australian rural flavour, with four ensuite rooms and a light-bathed guest lounge and dining room located in two retreats, clad in corrugated iron.
From each room, views stretch out across the valley and the sounds of the prolific bird life ring from the trees. The fruits of 
the farm (also available in the farm shop and gallery) include jams, chutneys, olive oil, fresh eggs and herbs from the kitchen garden. Combined together, they make a memorable breakfast. Dinner can be arranged and delicious farm-cooked meals are complemented by a list of local wines. Patly Hill offers romantics an idyllic escape and at the same time is a perfect choice for small groups travelling together or mini conferences.
