No crowds, no traffic and no reason to rush – slow down, take a deep breath and enjoy the chance to unwind on a 270-acre cattle grazing farm. Located on a stunning rise just out of Toowoomba, Sugarloaf Mountain offers spectacular views over Queensland's legendary Darling Downs farming district.
The recently renovated three-bedroom retreat has two queen rooms and a single room to accommodate a range of holidaymakers. With three separate living areas you can even escape each other – one of you napping in the sunroom, another with a good book in the reading room and another watching a DVD in the lounge room. But it is more likely you will want to spend some time soaking up the panoramic scenery on the outdoor deck. And having the Retreat all to yourself, the only nosy neighbours you can expect are the odd cow or wallaby passing by.
 There are several nearby national parks with great bushwalking trails and you should pay a visit to one of the local wineries and stock up for your stay. Sugarloaf Mountain Country Retreat is great value, a genuine country experience.
