There really is nothing quite like that feeling of slipping into bed between crisp sun-dried sheets to bring back memories of past country holidays. And that's what you get when you stay in one of two charming colonial cottages in different locations in Toowoomba's historic district.
You might choose the romantic Dovecote cottage, built in the late 1800s and located in a quiet and pretty street in Toowoomba. Here you can curl up by the cosy fire, enjoy afternoon tea on the shady verandah or pluck an avocado from the ancient tree in the backyard. A stroll around the gardens of nearby Queens Park is a pleasant way to spend some time.
The larger three-bedroom Queenslander, Heather Glen, is beautifully restored and located the other side of Queens Park. Families can enjoy long leisurely holiday dinners in the charming country eat-in kitchen  or on the large outdoor rear deck and barbecue area. A shady garden and cute cubbyhouse will keep the kids amused while you kick back on the verandah and breathe in the clean country air.
