Perched above the Great Dividing Range, Queensland's garden city Toowoomba is rich with heritage architecture and pretty streetscapes. Historic Banksia Cottage was built in the 1890s and is located in Toowoomba's lovely Mort Estate. A stay in this sweet cottage will place you nicely for plenty of exploring around Australia's largest inland city.
The cosy cottage has a full kitchen, comfortable living area with open fireplace and two delightful bedrooms. Banskia is very family friendly, with special touches such as lots of teddy bears, a well-stocked DVD library and a fully fenced yard that will appeal to holidaymakers with children. Pets are welcome and Fido will certainly be grateful for the kennel provided. The public grounds bordering the cottage are a great place to let your pooch and your children run wild and the kids will appreciate the sandpit and playground as well.
Formal heritage walks are available in town and the local cafes, galleries and  restaurants are only a short walk away. With dry winters and warm summers Toowoomba is perfect to visit anytime but book early for the flower festival as Banksia Cottage is always popular.
