Built in 1911, this grand heritage-listed property was acquired by the Williams family in 1915. It has recently undergone a meticulous, award-winning restoration by the present generation of Williams, hosts Peter and Lyn. This impressive bed and breakfast is steeped in history and masterfully combines period beauty with lavish modern appointments.
The Lodge is in the heart of historic Yungaburra village and offers stunning views over Mount Quincan and the Seven Sisters. There are three penthouse spa suites to choose from: two have separate bathrooms and one features an open-plan design. Downstairs, two luxury suites (each with ensuite) open onto lush green gardens. The large guest lounge features a wine bar with a fire and billiards table and outside you can enjoy a dip in the pool and spa.
Guests can stroll along the picturesque heritage walk in Yungaburra or head off for a
swim in the nearby crater lakes. The Peterson Creek wildlife track starts close by the Lodge and, if you're lucky, you may spot a platypus or one of the rare Lumholtz tree kangaroos. But the easy option is to simply just relax and enjoy the natural beauty at your doorstep. Location: 64km or one hour southwest of Cairns. RA 14 G4.
Facilities: Five suites and rooms (king bed, cable TV, DVD, CD, broadband, AC; some with spa). Lounge (log fire, pool table, pianola). Pool, BBQ. Continental breakfast provisions provided. Visit this property's website
