This is a rainforest refuge for eco-romantics. At the heavenly Mt Quincan Crater Retreat, you get to choose from one of six tree houses. Each imaginatively designed bower nestles into the rim of the crater, giving you breathtaking views directly into the heart of the crater or out over the impressive tableland, home to Queensland's highest mountain, Mt Bartle Frere.
As you relax into your double spa bath, the tranquillity of your own private wraparound tableland view will seep into your soul. Hosts Kerry and Barb have a clever way of replenishing your breakfast goodies (the full country breakfast, of course) without disturbing you. Your only neighbours will be the local wildlife, serenading you to sleep with their song and look out for the rare Lumholtz's tree kangaroo.
The spacious tree houses provide sheer luxury for couples and no attention to detail has  been missed. Three tree houses have hidden outdoor showers in the treetops and a 360-degree rotating fireplace for the cooler months, allowing you to soak up the heat of radiant coals whether you're in the lounge, spa, king-sized bed. Mt Quincan is inspired.
