Mountaintop eco-cottages

The mystically beautiful Barrington Tops plateau has a magnetic attraction for those who want to check into the ancient world of Gondwanaland. This is a land of valleys, waterfalls, starry nights and trees and ferns that have held on for 100 million years. At Ros and Kevin Runciman's three secluded eco-cottages you can travel back to this land that time forgot.

Ros and Kevin have created something special with these cottages, which reflect their passion for connecting dwellings with landscape. A profound place awareness shines through in every detail, from the local stone and timber used in their construction to the ultra-light tread of their carbon footprints. Elouera is perfect for a family getaway with older kids. It has two queen-size beds and twin singles, a fire-lit lounge (with a great sound system), a full kitchen and a funky detached shower house. Each cottage has an outdoor firepit for cooking and after-dinner sing-alongs under the crystal clear stars. For bigger parties, Ros and Kevin also have the five-bedroom Noonameena House just down the road.

Trips to the scenic highlights of the Barrington Tops are easy. But there is plenty to see and do on this 57-hectare, officially designated wildlife refuge.

We have just returned from three days at Elouera - a slice of paradise. Everything exceeded our expectations, the very cozy cabin, the beautiful surroundings, the open fireplace and outdoor shower, the absolute privacy... but even more though the attention
of detail Ros & Kevin have put into everything. Nothing to be missed in the kitchen, a lovely welcome gift of cookies and honey, homemade bread and the absolute cleanliness of the cottage ... we have rented many places over the years but have rarely come across
such wonderful hosts and such an exceptional place. We will be back for our next Yeranda experience in the not so distant future.

Lovely place to stay in the wilderness yet still close enough to civilisation I have stayed here 3 times and and each visit is a new experience. Nice quaint cottages, great hosts, wildlife everywhere, A visit is highly recommended

We have stayed at Kalimna (the single-bedroom cottage) seven times and Pindari (the two-bedroom cottage) twice since November 2007. There is no better place for a quiet, relaxing holiday in a natural bushland setting. Heaps of wildlife come to visit and
the frog pond at Kalimna is magical. The outdoor showers are great! Our hosts, Ros and Kevin, could not be friendlier or more helpful and the cottages have everything you could possibly want or need for your stay. We'll certainly keep returning!!

We have stayed at Yeranda many times. I discovered this slice of heaven a little over five years ago and find myself needing to return year after year. It's the peace and quiet, a glass of wine by the the camp fire, staring at the stars and the feeling
of being miles from anywhere that work their magic on my spirit every time I stay...even just 24 hours is enough to cleanse me of the madness of city life. Ros and Kev have created a beautiful sanctuary and have thought of absolutely everything, which makes
it so easy for me to do nothing.

After our first stay at Yeranda we knew we had found a special place to relax & enjoy the serenity. The warmth & charm of the stone & timber cottages reflects the dedication of the friendly hosts Kev & Ros, well maintained & organised to make a stay very
enjoyable. A few days at Yeranda leaves you feeling totally relaxed & keen to organise the next visit, leaving is hard. A selection of accommodation that meets all requirements.
