Scene-stealing starIt is easy to see why Yarrawa Hill frequently features in style magazines like Home Beautiful and Highlife. This is a breathtakingly eclectic mix of Australian design vernacular that was built to incorporate antique fittings and furnishings collected by the owners from travels in Indonesia, Africa and further afield.
Yarrawa Hill is set in a forested estate of 156 acres and uses its hillside location atop the Illawara Escarpment to bring a beautiful landscape of trees, sky and coastal views into every corner. There are three living spaces: the West Wing has the central living, dining and main kitchen, and is joined by a library walkway to the East Wing, which offers two guest suites (each with their own ensuite and study) and a glass conservatory. Downstairs is another self-contained suite with its own fireplace, lounge, study and ensuite. From every room, decks offer vantage points for wildlife spotting and view gazing.
Yarrawa Hill would make an ideal retreat for groups of writers, book club members, wine aficionados or anyone who wants to be able to retreat in seclusion or reunite with family and friends. Robertson is four kilometres away and there are endless spots to explore nearby, including Budderoo National Park and many waterfalls, lookouts and walking trails.
