You know you are in for something special when you enter Woodman Estate’s sweeping driveway. The magnificent gardens are a prelude to the gracious manor house, the picturesque lake and incredibly romantic lakeside chalets. Add an indulgent Spa Retreat, a restaurant recommended by The Age Good Food Guide and the result is a worldclass country house hotel. Think luxurious private country club and you will get an idea of the exclusive yet inviting ambience at Woodmans.All the rooms and suites are gorgeous, our favourite being the spa suite with its impressive bay windows, overstuffed sofa that soaks up the sun and the double spa in the opulent marble bathroom with views across the lake.
The chalets are even more indulgent. They are enormous tworoom penthouses with a spa and private overwater decks. You can enjoy breakfast in the brasserie, but the more relaxed option is to have it delivered to your Lakeside Chalet.
Our suggestion? Book a double massage, then relax before enjoying dinner in the restaurant. And if you want to show the place off to your friends, invite them to Sunday’s high tea for a memorable afternoon.
