Bicheno is a must-see on any Tasmanian tour – or it could be an east coast destination in its own right. It features long sandy beaches (with the stunning Bay of Fires to the north and Wineglass Bay to the south), intriguing bright orange lichen-clad boulders and impossibly clear ocean waters. There are even cool climate vineyards to explore nearby, plus this lively seaside village has its unfair share of good cafes, restaurants and bars to discover.Windows on Bicheno is our latest Tasmanian find and it makes the most of this sensational spot with unparalleled north-facing views over the town and sea. Each of the two top-floor suites has a private balcony to take in that panorama, and we love the contemporary decor that reflects the Sunrise and Sunset names of each suite. With an interior designer as your host, you can expect bespoke local furniture, photographs and even organic pamper products in the exquisite bathroom. There is also a deep soaker spa bath for two.
The romantic suites are perfect for couples seeking style in a superb location, while two couples travelling together will enjoy the entire top floor, which has a separate central living room. Add a gourmet breakfast and what you get is a very indulgent five star retreat.
